  • Calyptix Security named as winner of UNC Charlotte's Five Ventures™ business plan competition
  • Zheng and Teo publish "Intrusion Detection Force: An Infrastructure for Internet-Scale Intrusion Detection," (2003 IEEE International Workshop on Information Assurance, Darmstadt, Germany)
  • Zheng, Teo and Gail-Joon Ahn publish "Dynamic and Risk-Aware Network Access Management," (2003 ACM International Symposium on Access Control Models and Technologies, Como, Italy)

2004

  • Alpha version completed and tested to validate efficacy of dynamic intrusion prevention engine against malware without signature files
  • Calyptix Security shifts focus from consumer to comprehensive commercial solution
  • Zheng is elected by international peer security experts to the 5-member Steering Committee for International Workshop on Information Assurance, and chairs its annual 2004 workshop

2005

  • Zheng is appointed Founding Director of Information Security and Assurance Center at UNC Charlotte
  • AccessEnforcer™ Validation begins
  • Ben Yarbrough appointed CEO of Calyptix Security
  • Seed round financing completed
