Security Engineer

A successful applicant must have the following essential skills and experience:

• Strong programming skills in C, Bourne/Korn shell, Ruby, Perl, and the use of regular expressions.
• Web development skills in PHP and JavaScript. Knowledge of AJAX a plus.
• Experience and strong interest in Linux and/or OpenBSD.
• Experience in managing Windows servers and desktops a plus.
• Knowledge of a wide variety of protocols (TCP/IP, SMTP, POP3, HTTP, etc.) and network/systems administration.
• Background and interest in network security (firewalls, intrusion detection systems, VPN) required. Experience with network security appliances a plus.
• Skills with relational database systems and SQL queries.
• Experience with Microsoft Active Directory and LDAP preferred.
• Experience with ActiveX control development a plus.
• Experience with SNMP preferred.
• Familiarity with Snort and ability to write/modify Snort rules a big plus.
• Must be customer-oriented and willing to participate in technical support calls and visits to customer sites.
• Must be able to learn and adopt new skills and technologies rapidly in response to new and changing requirements.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Excellent team player.
