• Support Engineer

  Calyptix Security is seeking a support engineer to join the team. The successful candidate must be customer-oriented and have excellent communication skills, and the following essential skills and experience: Experience with firewalls, IPsec VPN, IDS/IPS, spam filtering, and web filtering. Strong network troubleshooting skills and experience with network diagnostic tools like ping, tcpdump, Wireshark, etc. Experience with managing support tickets. Experience working with server and network products for the SMB (e.g. Microsoft Small Business Server, Cisco, server antivirus, etc.) a plus Knowledge of email servers, web servers, and protocols - Exchange, SMTP, POP3, HTTP, FTP, etc. Experience working on the command-line, both on the Windows Command Prompt and UNIX. Experience in managing Windows servers and desktops a plus (Active Directory, GPO, etc). Experience with relational database systems and SQL queries a plus. Must be able to learn and adopt new skills and technologies rapidly in response to new and changing requirements. Excellent verbal and written communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiences by phone, email, and in person. Excellent team player. U.S. citizens or permanent residents only. • Security Engineer

  A successful applicant must have the following essential skills and experience: Strong programming skills in C, Bourne/Korn shell, Ruby, Perl, and the use of regular expressions. Web development skills in PHP and JavaScript. Knowledge of AJAX a plus. Experience and strong interest in Linux and/or OpenBSD. Experience in managing Windows servers and desktops a plus. Knowledge of a wide variety of protocols (TCP/IP, SMTP, POP3, HTTP, etc.) and network/systems administration. Background and interest in network security (firewalls, intrusion detection systems, VPN) required. Experience with network security appliances a plus. Skills with relational database systems and SQL queries. Experience with Microsoft Active Directory and LDAP preferred. Experience with ActiveX control development a plus. Experience with SNMP preferred. Familiarity with Snort and ability to write/modify Snort rules a big plus. Must be customer-oriented and willing to participate in technical support calls and visits to customer sites. Must be able to learn and adopt new skills and technologies rapidly in response to new and changing requirements.
